Kruk op Wielen

Privacy policy

Last updated: 27 August 2026

Short version: we ask only what we need in order to bring a scooter to your door, we sell nothing on, and there are no trackers on this site.

01 Who processes your data

  • Kruk op Wielen, Teilingerstraat 126, 3032 AW Rotterdam, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 63107015, is the data controller. You can reach us at hoi@krukopwielen.nl.

02 What we ask, and why

  • Name, email and phone number — to confirm your request and arrange delivery.
  • Address and postcode — to deliver and collect the scooter, and to calculate the delivery cost.
  • Your hire period — so we know when you have it.
  • Optional: what you need it for, your height, and your notes — so the seat and steering height are right before we arrive. You can leave these blank and the request still goes through.

03 Something about health

  • If you fill in what you need the scooter for, you are telling us something about your health. We ask only because it helps us set it up, and it is never required.
  • We use it for nothing else, we share it with nobody, and you can always have it deleted.

04 On what basis

  • Performance of the rental contract, and the steps leading up to it — that covers almost everything above.
  • For the optional fields: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • For our bookkeeping: our statutory retention obligation.

05 How long we keep it

  • Requests that do not become a hire: six months, then deleted.
  • Records of a hire that did go ahead: seven years, because Dutch tax law requires it of our books.
  • The optional health-related fields are deleted as soon as the hire is finished.

06 Who else sees it

  • Nobody who does not need to. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
  • Our hosting provider stores the site and the database for us, and our email provider delivers the confirmation message. Beyond that, Kruk op Wielen shares nothing with third parties.
  • When you enter a postcode we send it to PDOK, the Dutch government geodata service, to work out the distance. That happens from our server, not from your browser, and nothing but the postcode is sent.

07 Cookies and measurement

  • This site has no analytics, no advertising pixels and no trackers. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to accept.
  • There is one cookie, and you only get it if you log into the admin page — which is the owner, not you.

08 What you can ask for

  • Access to what we hold, correction, deletion, restriction, and a copy in a common file format.
  • Withdrawal of consent for the optional fields.
  • Email us and we sort it within a month, usually much sooner.
  • If you think we are getting it wrong, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

09 Security

  • The site runs entirely over HTTPS. The database sits outside the public web folder and cannot be fetched over the web. The admin page is behind a password.
  • Of your IP address we keep only a hashed fingerprint, to limit form abuse — your actual IP cannot be recovered from it.
